The Seminar on Data Management and Quality Assurance of Higher Education in the Greater Bay Area invited experts from government departments of education, schools of education in universities, higher education institutions, and ICT enterprises from the cities in the Greater Bay Area (the GBA) to put forward suggestions and exchanged ideas on higher education data and quantitative evaluation research and application. They also discussed how to use higher education evaluation to bring benefits to the Bay Area.

The GBA Data Center of Higher Education (hereinafter as the GBA DCHE), jointly set up by International Centre for Higher Education Innovation under the auspices of UNESCO (UNESCO-ICHEI) and Center for Higher Education Research of Southern University Science and Technology (CHER, SUSTech) was officially launched in the Seminar. The center is the first regional education research institution in the world focusing on "the Bay Area", and is committed to becoming an influential Chinese high-end educational think tank around the globe.

The seminar announced the Initiative of GBA Higher Education Joint Unites, which follows the principle of professional, front-tier, and open research of education data. And it is striving for improving the quality of higher education, leading the cluster development of universities in the region, and helping create a world-class Bay Area and world-class city group.
